A few days behind here, but now I've got lots of progress to show! I've been fortunate enough to be getting commissions with plushies who wear clothes! I've been wanting to practice and create more nice looking clothing, I'm definitely improving and learning lots. This particular kitty's suit is almost done, just need to line the sleeves and collar for a nice finished look.

It's been a few days. Had to catch up on some messages (still more of that to do). But pink kitty face is coming along! I love these little plastic eyelashes. I have to wait on a plastic nose to come in the mail, it wasn't in my stash. Go figure, I have a whole grocery bag stuffed with noses and eyes and I still don't have what I need! But noseless kitty head should be finished up tomorrow. Then clothes!
Yesterday was a patterning day so I couldn't get too many photos of that. But here's the result of it! Pink kitty for a commission. Heads tend to be very intricate and even if the slightest detail is off, it can look wrong. So I usually do a mock-up and draw all over it a few times before doing the final.
And then there's this guy. Completely opposite in size from the dragon below. Another custom commission, this guy will only be about 3 inches tall, but with thread jointed arms and legs. These are some of my favorite things to make <3
A huge dragon I've been working on for a commission. The customer gave me some great references to work with, so this has been a blast, not to mention I have been DYING to make a dragon for years. The wingspan on this guy is over 50 inches. Quite large! Wiring in the wings gives them some, but not complete, anti-gravity effect. Wiring in the legs helps give support under the weight of the wings. Still need to work out the head on this guy.
Okay, I'm committing to blogging at least once a day on weekdays. Work in progress photos from each day's work will be posted here. Enjoy!
I'll start off with a wolf Link from Zelda I've been working on. This one was based on commission and the customer requested Link to be in a Build-A-Bear kind of style. So one of the hardest parts has been the clothing. It's deceptively complex.... |
